ROSELLE, NJ – Residents of Roselle have been told in the past by former Mayor and now Assemblyman Jamel C. Holley, that the Huddle House was coming to Roselle and would be built on St. Georges Avenue. Current Mayor Christine Dansereau mentioned the Huddle House project last Tuesday evening to a group of residents during the speaker series at the Roselle Public Library.
Just what is the Huddle House? According to their website, Huddle House is a comfortable, local place for everyday people who want homestyle food. Our menu is Southern-inspired. We excel in breakfast foods, and are that place where you can get an indulgent, hearty breakfast any time of the day or night, but in addition you can also get burgers, sandwiches and homestyle dinners, also at any time. We like to say “Any Meal. Any Time.” But what really makes us different, and we think exceptional, is that we have become part of the local community. Our wait staff knows our guests’ names and greets them when they walk in the door. We know how they want their eggs and how they take their coffee. And our guests know each other. Huddle House is really the local gathering place in the communities they serve.
The local planning board will undergo a zoning review in September for the development of the new restaurant, as well the construction of a Wawa on Saint Georges Avenue.
The popular 24-hour, full-service family diner will continue to expand with the opening of three additional new locations in East Orange, Newark, and Teterboro.
Developers Alberto Goncalves and Dipen Desai have plans to open four restaurants in New Jersey within the next 12-24 months. The pair of developers have chosen to invest in the Huddle House brand concept because of appetizing menu and its steady business growth.
“Not only does the Huddle House brand make perfect sense for New Jersey, but it’s a business that has shown steady progress,” said Goncalves. “Huddle House is one of the most affordable breakfast franchises you can own, making this a no-brainer for me.”
“GS and Ferrer developers have a proven track record of acquiring and developing projects like these with a clear plan of execution,” Holley said. “Our community is in need of franchises like Wawa and Huddle House in order to stimulate the economy, create jobs and improve the overall appearance of the area.” The total investment for the Huddle House development is approximately $1 million.
“About 93% of Americans agree breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so why not invest in it,” said Desai. “Huddle House is going to be part of the community in New Jersey and we are ecstatic to be part of that driving force.”
